Scores of travellers were left waiting to rebook flights at the airport today.
It came after the runway was closed twice yesterday to clear snow and ice, resulting in almost 60 flights being cancelled.
Passengers described the situation as “chaos” on social media, the BBC reported.
Airport bosses said beds and blankets had been handed out to those who were unable to return home, with free food and drink also provided.
In a statement releaed this morning on Twitter, the airport said flights were expected to operate as planned but urged passengers to check the latest status of their flight before travelling to the airport.
