“Having never run more than 10km in my life, I was moved by the cause TTG Media is supporting to join Sophie, Jen and Chris in running our first marathon. I’m proud of our team, who have committed themselves to this huge task and set such a significant fundraising goal. With my training under way, my dad passed away on January 11 this year, after his own brave six-and-a-half-year battle with cancer. He supported me running this marathon, so to do it in his memory is a real incentive to complete the course.”

Jennifer says:

“I’m teased for enjoying the comfortable life – nice food, the odd glass of wine and lots of sleeping! But life is short, and not everyone is lucky enough to enjoy these pleasures. Cancer has taken my mum, my gran and other friends’ loved ones too. So I see no reason why I shouldn’t push myself, go through the gruelling training and make myself uncomfortable. I’m not aiming for a great time, but I plan to get round the whole 26.2 miles! Our team is raising money for our designated charity, but we’re also challenging ourselves.”

“I’m running the London Marathon because it’s a great way to raise funds for an incredible charity, and a way to challenge myself. Through TTG Media’s partnership with Children with Cancer UK, I’ve seen the life-changing work the charity does, which also resonates with me personally, as I lost a childhood friend to leukaemia at the age of 17. A few years ago, I never thought I’d be able to run 10km, let alone 26.2 miles! This is a great way to push myself and raise money to help Children with Cancer UK continue its vital work.”

“I decided to run this year’s London Marathon to try to raise as much money as possible for Children with Cancer UK. This charity is very close to my heart because my son, Louie, was diagnosed with leukaemia at 18 months old. Without the help of Children with Cancer UK, we would never have got through it, and I am eternally grateful to them. I’ll be really proud to take on this huge challenge with my colleagues alongside me. The training has certainly been a shock to the system, but I know I'll make it to the finish line…”
