Carnaval de Negros y Blancos, Pasto
(2 – 7 January)
The Carnaval de Negros y Blancos (Black and White Carnival) was born from Andean and Hispanic traditions and takes place in south-western Colombia. It features various parades and workshops, which focus on tolerance and respect. 

Carnaval de Barranquilla – Barranquilla
(1 – 4 March) 
The Barranquilla Carnival is one of the most important fairs and festivals in the country and has run for the past three centuries. Over four days the city of Barranquilla is filled with rhythm, dancing and colour.

Festival de la Leyenda Vallenata – Valledupar
(30 April – 4 May)

The Festival de la Leyenda Vallenata has been held annually in Valledupar since 1968, and celebrates Vallenato music and culture by bringing together top composers and performers for a series of competitions – including a famed accordion contest. 

Feria de las Flores – Medellín
(1 – 10 August) 
This fair has run since 1957 as an initiative to highlight the values ​​and traditions of Antioquian culture, paying tribute to the biodiversity and beauty of the country's flowers with parades, displays and celebrations. Colombia is the world's second largest exporter of flowers – after the Netherlands – and the department of Antioquia contributes 40% of the national production. 

Feria de Cali – Cali
(25 – 30 December)
This post-Christmas festival is full of colour, joy, music, lights and gastronomy, with a host of parades and fairs taking place.
