The independent agency chain, which has more than 70 shops, said the association was a “significant forum” for sharing best practice and to lobby for change.
Joanne Dooey, SPAA vice-president, said: “The SPAA mission is to ensure the Scottish travel marketplace is fair for consumers and travel agents. We are the voice of the profession. I am therefore delighted one of the country’s most successful travel agencies has returned to SPAA membership.
“We’re facing a time of regulatory change and commercial challenges for the industry and, due to the issues facing many operators and airlines, travel agencies are undergoing a period of renaissance with the public.
“Having Barrhead Travel as a member once again means their experiences, and those of their clients, can be shared across the sector leading to a stronger voice for travel agents and their customers.”
Jacqueline Dobson, Barrhead Travel president, added: “I believe the SPAA offers a significant forum for sharing best practice amongst Scottish agents and, importantly, a voice to lobby for change so that we can keep delivering quality experiences for our collective customers. I am delighted to be bringing Barrhead Travel back to SPAA membership.”
