Celebrity Central will go live on October 4, with six sections – covering the line’s news, sales and marketing tools, and training and learning resources – together in one place.
Agents will be given a personalised login for the portal, which represents a six-figure investment from Celebrity.
It brings together resources from Cruising Power, AirWaves and Celebrity’s sales and marketing toolkit, including the Celebrity Cruises Digital Library and Celebrity Rewards.
It also features Celebrity Passport – a new e-learning resource replacing Cruising for Excellence, which sees agents being offered “bite-sized” modules to earn stamps for each section they complete.
The line said it was targeting 5,000 agent sign-ups during the portal’s first six months.
Claire Stirrup, sales director, Celebrity Cruises UK and Ireland, said Celebrity Central delivered “the most positive changes for agents” since Celebrity established a standalone [sales] team within Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd four years ago.
Nicola McNeish, head of sales, told TTG Celebrity Central had been developed through working closely with agents, with feedback showing the need for a fully searchable site. As such, Celebrity Central will feature a search bar with tags for trending topics and popular search terms.
“It was all about making sure we were creating exactly what agents needed,” McNeish said.
“It’s a big investment for us and one we feel is market-leading for the UK travel industry.”
Celebrity‘s sales team will visit agents to spread the word about Celebrity Central as well as the line’s Festival of Edge campaign, giving 200 top-selling agents the chance to sail onboard upcoming ship Celebrity Edge next May.
