According to new data from analytics company Cirium, this year’s level is 591% higher than last year’s February half-term, but 38% lower than the one in 2020.
There are reportedly 8,304 international flights scheduled to depart from the UK during the February school holiday – equating to 1,621,331 seats.
February half-term 2021, however, saw only 1,201 international departures from the UK, while 2020 saw 13,422.
Spain is expected to welcome 1,354 flights from the UK this half-term, making it the most popular destination for holidaymakers, followed by Ireland with 646 arriving flights.
Flights from the UK to China, meanwhile, have plummeted by 94% when comparing February half-term in 2022 with 2020.
Flights between the UK and the Maldives have seen the biggest increase, with 133% more flights this February half-term compared to the same time in 2020.
February half-term this year is expected to see 8,293 flights land in the UK from international destinations.
