Presented by WTM, the awards aim to celebrate the best of travel and tourism around the globe.
This includes destinations, tourist boards, private companies and individuals working in the sector.
More than 500 industry figures will attend the ceremony on November 6 in London.
The awards are co-chaired by Marcelo Risi of the UNWTO and Nick Pilbeam, director of Reed Travel Exhibitions, with judges drawn from across the industry.
Charlotte Sutton, co-founder of the International Travel & Tourism Awards, said: “We’ve had some incredible entries from across the globe – from destinations as diverse as the Faroe Islands, Japan, Peru, Slovenia, Manchester and Kerala – and they all demonstrate how tourism is playing a vital role in the economies of different cities and regions.
“Both the quality and volume of entrants was very impressive. Our judges were extremely impressed by the entries, making it quite a task for them to whittle it down. Those who are on the shortlist should know they have reached a very high standard.”
The full shortlist of nominations is available via the WTM website while the shortlist for the Outstanding Contribution Award will be announced in September.
