The aircraft took off at around 3.40pm, reports the Manchester Evening News, but returned to Manchester less than 40 minutes later.
Police met the flight on the runway and a woman was arrested on suspicion of being drunk aboard an an aircraft.
A Ryanair spokesperson said: "This flight from Manchester to Ibiza returned to Manchester airport shortly after take-off after a passenger became disruptive inflight.
"We will not tolerate unruly or disruptive behaviour at any time and the safety and comfort of our customers, crew and aircraft is our number one priority.”
The spokesperson added the flight departed for Ibiza again “shortly after” the incident concluded.
Ryanair has been among the most vocal critics of laws governing airside drinking at airports.
The airline has called for a two-drink limit to prevent drunk and disorderly behaviour spilling over onto flights.
Jet2.com has also made similar calls for curbs on airport drinking.
Earlier this year, a number of airlines and airports came together in support of the One Too Many campaign championing responsible pre-flight drinking.
The CAA, meanwhile, has warned incidents of in-flight drunken behaviour could hit record highs this year.
