The vessel’s fitting out is under way as it prepares to embark on its maiden Mysteries of Carthage and the Moors cruise, which will depart Palermo for Lisbon on 15 April.
Diana will then sail along the West Atlantic seaboard of Europe for explorations of the Arctic.
Andrea Zito, chief executive of Swan Hellenic, said: "We look forward to welcoming our guests aboard her to experience our cultural expedition cruises with the first-time option of choosing between shore exploration by tender boat as well as expedition zodiac."
The vessel will be able to carry 192 guests across 96 suites, making it the largest ship in Swan Hellenic’s fleet.
