The sessions will give travel consultants the opportunity to host a table for around eight of their own customers and learn more about the river cruise and escorted tour specialist with a Q&A session.
Kathryn Coles, Tauck’s UK country manager, told TTG the events, which agents request a table for, are due to be held in Tunbridge Wells on September 10 and in the Dorking area on September 11.
She said she hoped they would help “take the pressure” off agents, who now had no need to organise their own such gathering. A third event, yet to be confirmed, is likely to be held in the Henley area on September 12.
Coles, who was promoted from UK and Ireland sales manager in May, said if the events proved successful, she would consider a wider roll-out on a more regular basis in other locations.
“When it comes to working with agents, we’re not after a quick gain or a one-hit sale. We want to build a real relationship with the right agents and their clients,” she said.
Coles also revealed she was looking to bring Tauck’s overseas tour directors to the UK for additional training events “to bring the brand to life”.
