Charlotte: Welcome to our In the Spotlight video with The Bahamas Tourist Office UK. Rossano, for agents who aren't as familiar with the destination, could you give us an introduction to The Bahamas?
Rossano: Sure. The Bahamas is not just one island; it is a lifetime of them. So it truly is a diverse destination that's made up of 16 main islands and hundreds of smaller cays.
So it's conveniently located just off of the coast of Florida. For more simplicity, the destination is commonly grouped into three main areas. You have Nassau and Paradise Island, Grand Bahama Island, and the Out Islands, which we also affectionately call the Family Islands.
And each area offers a distinct experience. Each island has its own personality. So, from vibrant resort life and entertainment to nature-focused escapes and more intimate barefoot luxury environments. All of this gives visitors the opportunity to enjoy a wide range of different experiences within one destination.
Charlotte: That's fantastic. And you're running the Two Fly Free Out Islands promotion. What do agents need to know about this?
Rossano: The Two Fly Free Out Islands promotion is designed just to make island-hopping easier and more attractive for European residents and travellers alike. When booking an Out Islands holiday package, travellers can receive a complimentary domestic flight from Nassau, allowing them to explore more than just one island during their stay.
Bookings of four to six nights receive one free round-trip flight, while bookings of seven nights receive two free flights. This offers a strong added value and encourages longer stays. Agents can access this through our European tour operators or via Majestic Holidays.
Charlotte: That sounds great. And you have a special programme that enables travellers to get to know locals and understand a bit more about island life. Could you tell us about that?
Rossano: Oh yes, the People-to-People programme. So, this programme is a free programme, and this offers visitors a unique opportunity to connect with local Bahamians and experience the destination on a more personal level. So, through this free programme, travellers are paired with local People-to-People Ambassadors who share authentic culture, traditions, and everyday island life. So, these sorts of meaningful interactions help visitors to gain a deeper appreciation of The Bahamas and create lasting memories that go beyond the traditional holiday experience.
And to get involved in this programme, you can just access it via our website, bahamas.com, and just search People-to-People programme. The form shows up, you fill out the form, and you're paired with a local ambassador.
Charlotte: Nice and easy, thank you. And I know you have a fantastic training platform as well. So, tell us what that offers agents and why they need to sign up.
Rossano: Yes, so we have the Bahamas Specialist Programme. It's a fantastic programme. You sign up and become a certified Bahamas Specialist through a complimentary training platform. So, it helps agents to become more confident learning the destination. It offers more in-depth education across all 16 islands of The Bahamas.
Different valuable sales tools are included, different marketing resources, different pictures. This helps support your sales and marketing efforts. And upon completion, you receive a special reward, special recognition, and a special badge that you could promote.
And this provides an added incentive while strengthening your product knowledge. And overall the programme equips agents with confidence and expertise needed to recommend the right Bahamian experiences and drive conversions.
Charlotte: Brilliant. And there's also your Bahamas Rewards programme. What do agents need to know about that?
Rossano: Yeah, so the Bahamas Rewards programme is designed to recognise you, the agents, and reward you for your continued support. You can earn incentives on eligible bookings to Nassau and Paradise Island, Grand Bahama Island as well, and especially the Out Islands.
The programme offers a simple, motivating structure where your increased sales lead to increased rewards. So, this just reinforces a strong, mutually beneficial relationship. And you can access this and transfer your rewards to your accounts as well. So, it's definitely a win-win.
Charlotte: Thank you for sharing all of that fantastic information, Rossano. And thank you for watching our In the Spotlight video with The Bahamas Tourist Office UK.
Rossano: Thank you.
