The group, which includes TTG Media CEO Daniel Pearce, will trek the final 120km of El Camino de Santiago – the ancient pilgrimage route running through Portugal, France and Northern Spain.
Carrying their own supplies along the way, the group will be raising funds for industry charity Abta LifeLine and the non-profit Planeterra foundation, which uses community tourism to change lives.
It follows previous G Treks, organised by G Adventures, in Colombia’s Lost City, Morocco’s Mount Toubkal, Choquequirao in Peru and Tanzania’s Mount Kilimanjaro. Since launching in 2019, the initiative has raised more than £150,000 and has become a key event in the UK travel trade calendar.
G Adventures managing director EMEA Brian Young, who will lead the trek, said: “When the G Trek For Good started in 2019 with a small group of us battling the elements to summit Kilimanjaro, we didn't realise the seed we had planted.
"Fast forward to today, and after four life-changing hikes and nearly £150,000 raised to support Planeterra and Abta LifeLine, it's clear this has developed into something more than just a fundraising initiative. It's a passionate community committed to changing lives through the power of community tourism.
"The impact of G Trek For Good is already being felt globally, and we call on everyone to be part of this change by donating today.”
