The Foreign Office strengthened its travel advice for Jordan in early March, days after the US and Israel's initial strikes on Iran, advising against all but essential travel to the country.
However, the FCDO rolled this back earlier this month, paving the way for a resumption of UK tourism to Jordan – a popular touring and adventure destination.
G Adventures, which had already committed to pausing its Jordan programme until the end of July prior to the FCDO update, has now confirmed it will resume operations to Jordan from 1 August.
Michelle Hudema, G's Chief Operating Officer, said the operator was always keen to return to destinations as soon as it is safe having seen "time and again the vital role tourism plays in supporting local communities and livelihoods".
Hudema said Jordan was a "special place" for G after playing host last September to the operator's GX Summit, which brought together more than 700 agents, suppliers, travellers and members of the media to celebrate the power of community tourism.
G Adventures claimed a nearly 200% increase in travellers n the month following the event, and has since grown its range of community experiences featuring in its Jordan tours from two to eight.
"Following our GX Summit in September 2025, we welcomed new communities and local partners into our tours and supply chain, and we’re eager to resume operations and continue creating opportunities through the power of sustainable travel," Hudema continued.
"For travellers, there has never been a better time to experience this extraordinary destination. Late summer and autumn are fantastic seasons to visit, whether you're looking to hike sections of the ancient Jordan Trail or join one of our adventures designed exclusively for solo travellers.
"By choosing to travel to Jordan, our travellers can enjoy an unforgettable experience while helping ensure tourism continues to deliver meaningful benefits to the people and communities who depend on it."
Intrepid Travel Managing Director EMEA, Zina Bencheikh, earlier this month said the operator planned to restart its trips to Jordan in June.
Jordan's most celebrated attractions include the rock-cut tombs and temples of Petra, the desert landscape of Wadi Rum and the Roman city of Jerash.
