Nearly six in 10 Antor members (57%) say they are anticipating a gradual or strong recovery in UK travel demand over the next three to six months.
The remaining 43% of respondents to the association's latest member survey said that they expected the summer to bring continued uncertainty, especially over flight and transport availability, and costs.
Half respondents to the Antor survey, the Association of National Tourist Office Representatives, said they had so far experienced no change in UK bookings.
And while just over a third said they had seen a dip (21% slight, 14% severe), 14% said bookings had increased, particularly for Asia and the Caribbean.
One cause for concern is what Antor characterised as "broader sentiment shifts", with more than a third of respondents (36%) reporting being affected by the conflict despite some distance away from it.
Only just over a quarter (29%) of respondents had seen a slight or significant increase in cancellations or postponements, while most destinations (86%) have not made major changes to their marketing or messaging, or reduced their marketing budgets (also 86%).
More than a third (36%) said any action they had taken concerned trade engagement; 29% said they had diverted efforts towards travel updates and a further 29% towards increasing levels of reassuring communication.
Asked to rank travellers concerns, rising costs – highlighted by 57% of respondents – was the most commonly cited, followed by general uncertainty (43%), flight disruption (29%) and safety or security worries (21%).
“The survey underscores the resilience of UK outbound travel, with most destinations reporting stable demand and only limited increases in cancellations," said Antor chair and director of the Spanish Tourist Office in the UK, Manuel Butler.
"While cost and uncertainty are top concerns, the industry is responding with targeted reassurance and maintaining steady marketing activity. The outlook for the coming months is cautiously optimistic, with recovery expected to outweigh further decline."
