Hotel pools in 2026 have transformed into a wellness concept, providing an escape from the overstimulation and extreme weather whilst also encouraging connection and social interaction.
In fact, recent research by Globetrender identified how travellers are increasingly achieving a zen mentality through both artificial and natural aquatic bodies.
“Unlike high-adrenaline environments, blue spaces such as seas, lakes, pools tend to slow cognitive pace, encouraging reflection rather than stimulation,” the report read.
From saltwater infinity pools to lagoon-style oases, we’ve rounded up four luxury hotel pools that are bound to impress your client while helping them reach this ‘Blue Mind.’
The Residence Zanzibar
Positioned within a 32-hectare estate on the southwest coast of Zanzibar, Residence Zanzibar, offers an array of private pools.
First up is the resort's 45-metre glass-walled infinity pool, which sits at the heart of the property and boasts panoramic views of the Indian Ocean. There are also shaded sun loungers and plush daybeds, should you need respite from the tropical temperatures.
Prefer a more private setting? All villas, which are inspired by the island’s African, Omani, and European heritage, contain their own terrace or deck with a 1.2 metre deep private plunge pool.
The standout feature of the resort is the Frangipani Ocean Front Pool Villa, which has a private pool as well as easy access to the beach. This generously sized two-bedroom villa also offers stunning ocean views and ample space for families, couples, or two friends.
Gran Meliá Palacio de Isora, Tenerife
Located on Tenerife’s southwest coast, The Gran Meliá Palacio de Isora is home to the longest infinity pool in Europe.
The 400-metre-long saltwater pool contains in-water sun loungers with a designated hydromassage area, where guests can enjoy hydrojet seating while taking in the seafront views.
Surrounded by tropical gardens enhancing the luxurious experience, the pool also offers direct access to the beach for travellers.
Beyond its infinity pool, the resort has four other outdoor pools.
Clients seeking a peaceful escape can enjoy two adults-only pools, one of which is exclusively reserved for the exclusive RedLevel resort.
There is also a choice of private and outdoor heated pools for RedLevel guests, a rooftop pool with elevated views and an indoor pool within the main resort’s spa.
Younger guests are equally well catered for, with a dedicated family pool, a children's pool and a 199m² splash park complete with water jets and interactive fountains.
Amara, Cyprus
Amara in Limassol, Cyprus features an adults-only outdoor seawater infinity pool with beautiful views of the Mediterranean Sea.
The pool incorporates the therapeutic benefits of seawater and provides a more tranquil alternative to the resort’s main swimming area.
The spa also contains a semi-Olympic indoor swimming pool, which is heated from November to mid-May. Surrounded by lounge chairs, the pool forms part of the resort's 3,000m² wellness centre, which includes thermal facilities and nine treatment rooms.
For a more communal setting, at the heart of the resort is its main infinity edge swimming pool, merging seamlessly with the surrounding lounge area and gardens.
Paradisus Salinas Lanzarote
At the centre of the adults-only resort Paradisus Salinas Lanzarote is a 1,800 sqm outdoor lagoon-style pool, carved into the volcanic landscape.
Designed by artist César Manrique, this saltwater pool is accompanied by a wraparound sun terrace lined with loungers and an allocated pool bar.
Special touches include basalt rock features and wild banana plants, which provide a naturalistic backdrop to the floating wellness activities offered daily. Another perk is its beach access – just 10 metres from the sand, the barrier between the sea and the pool feels almost invisible.
Meanwhile, guests staying in The Reserve retreat can enjoy access to private pools with a bar and other exclusive services.
