Research from independent cruise retailer Planet Cruise has compared this year’s fares to 2015 prices and found “significant savings” on like-for-like voyages, particularly for European journeys, which have been around 29% cheaper this year.
Planet also found “huge” savings on trips around the eastern Mediterranean with the prices for one 11-night cruise, including flights from London, falling by around 42% year-on-year.
Some cruises around the US and in the Far East have also seen double-digit reductions in prices compared to last year.
Dave Mills, Planet Cruise’s product and commercial director, said: “Our research shows that there are many good value cruise holidays to be had this year, with some of the most popular destinations showing significant savings compared to last year.
“Cruise holidays are becoming more and more popular and are a great choice for those looking to keep an eye on their spending during their holiday, as with most cruise holidays, everyday essentials such as meals are included, so there are no nasty surprises.”
