The island’s three major airports, Bastia, Ajaccio and Figari, will be served with up to nine flights a week. Air Corsica will use a 180-seat Airbus A320, with one-way fares from £49. Flights will operate from May 3 until November 4.
Rates include hold baggage of up to 23kg and one cabin bag of up to 12kg plus complimentary on-board snacks and drinks. Free seat allocation is also provided.
Air Corsica has been operating for 28 years and carries 1.7 million passengers. It has 12 aircraft, half of them Airbus A320 jets, and operates 33 routes.
Philippe Dandrieux, Air Corsica chairman, said: “International development of our route network is key for Air Corsica’s growth, and London is among our priorities in serving European capitals, especially with Corsica clearly missing on London Stansted’s route map.”
Stansted airport chief executive Ken O’Toole added: “Corsica is a fantastic addition to our extensive and growing network which now covers over 190 destinations across Europe and North America.”
