The Greek island route is added to Mykonos and Santorini that BA already offers from the East London airport. Skiathos starts on June 26 and will operate until September 6. In addition, Mykonos flights will increase from four flights a week to five this summer.
Basic fares to Skiathos (with hand luggage only) are from £79 one way.
BA has also announced it is axing its London City – Hamburg route “for commercial reasons” on March 25 and that it will cease flights to the French destination of Angers, blaming air traffic control restrictions. The summer-only flight had been due to resume on March 27.
The reshuffle means BA will serve 29 destinations from the Docklands airport this summer, with 1.9 million seats on sale.
