Branson’s The Spaceship Company, which is building its Virgin Galactic spacecraft, will manufacture the aircraft, called Boom, in conjunction with Blake Scholl, a pilot and former Amazon executive, according to a report in The Guardian. Branson has signed an option to purchase 10 of the aircraft, a prototype of which is currently being built in Colorado.
It is claimed that fares for the transatlantic trip on the new aircraft can be pegged to around £3,500, roughly the same as full-fare business-class rates.
