Partnership is a word we hear a lot in travel, so much so that its true meaning can sometimes get lost along the way.
A partnership is easily promised on the first few dates, but without a few key ingredients we’re potentially left with a mere fling. Passionate it may be in the early stages, but without investment, trust, good communication, a healthy dose of humour, understanding and shared goals there is little chance of it becoming a long lasting affair.
Having built my career at Kuoni over the past 12 years, I’ve learnt that good partnerships are about trust and making time for each other. Yet sometimes we all need a bit of a refresh and refocus to rekindle the love.
For Kuoni to stand out in the market and build business through the trade we have to listen. It’s not about rattling through an enquiry as quickly as possible to get on to the next call. I want to slow things down. We have a well-earned reputation for being super-efficient at tailor-making complex itineraries but we are not order takers. We have a team of experienced, well-travelled and passionate individuals up and down the country who want to get to know the agent at the other end of the phone, to really get under the skin of their customers’ needs.
