Bevington, 41, who lived in the Swedish capital and worked for music streaming service Spotify, was killed after a stolen truck plowed into a department store in central Stockholm.
Two Swedes and a Belgian national were also killed in the attack on the Ahlens store.
Swedish police have arrested a 39-year-old man from Uzbekistan who is thought to have driven the truck. Police said they had also found a “suspect” device in the hijacked vehicle.
The arrested man is a failed asylum seeker who had been told to leave Sweden last year. Police added that he has previously shown “sympathy for extremist organisations”.
In a separate move, neighbouring Norway has raised its security level after a homemade bomb was found in central Oslo on Saturday night.
The country’s national terror threat level has been increased from “possible” to “probable” after police carried out a controlled explosion on a suspect device.
Norwegian police have arrested a 17-year-old Russian following the incident. Although the teenager’s lawyer described his action as a “prank”.
