Campbell has been appointed managing director of the operators which were acquired by G Adventures in January.
He takes over the day-to-day running of the business from Ian Smith who is currently group chief executive and will remain as chairman.
Campbell co-founded coach tour operators in Scotland and Ireland before later selling the businesses to The Travel Corporation in 2001.
He continued at The Travel Corporation until 2014 and during his tenure with the business was managing director of Busabout Europe and Contiki Holidays.
