The news follows the departure of director of sales Nicki Tempest-Mitchell, who announced in May that she was leaving the cruise line to join Thomas Cook.
Harraghy, who will join the Celebrity Cruises team in October 2015, has worked for the last ten years as a strategic consultant to businesses in the travel and retail sector, including for Celebrity Cruises and the RCL Cruises Ltd organisation over the last five years.
She has also consulted with companies such as Thomas Cook, Saga Holidays, Holiday Autos, Virgin Holidays and Lastminute.com.
In a statement, the line said Harraghy would bring “considerable expertise on the business of travel distribution”.
She will report to UK and Ireland managing director Jo Rzymowska, and will oversee the 24 strong trade sales and support and commercial teams including the London intensification team. She will also be responsible for all of Celebrity Cruises’ UK and Ireland distribution channels.
Jo Rzymowska, managing director, UK and Ireland, Celebrity Cruises said: "Sarah has worked alongside us for many years and understands our business priorities inside out. As part of her role as an external consultant over the last few years, Sarah has met many of our trade partners as we have worked with them to develop our mutual growth business. Sarah brings exceptional leadership to our highly respected existing sales and commercial team. We are all excited about her joining."
Prior to starting her own consultancy, Beck and Co in 2005, Harraghy worked in senior sales and marketing roles for organisations such as Procter and Gamble and Pepsi Co for 17 years.
