Louise Gleadell, 37, who helps to run Freedom – The Dialysis Holiday Specialists with her mum, Christine, and sister, Laura, was diagnosed with grade 2b cervical cancer in February last year.
After undergoing months of gruelling radiotherapy and chemotherapy, she was informed by doctors that they had “run out of options” to cure her.
Her family has launched a fundraising campaign to help pay for immunotherapy.
The campaign, launched on February 3, has already made more than £65,000.
Freedom is a specialist agency which arranges trips for travellers who need kidney dialysis while they are on holiday.
Louise is currently in Leicester Royal Infirmary after undergoing life-saving surgery a fortnight ago to stop a serious bleed.
Her family is now hoping she will soon be well enough to travel to London to begin the pioneering immunotherapy.
Since making the funding plea online, the campaign has received support from an array of local businesses and Louise’s story has been featured by national news outlets including The Mirror and The Sun.
Laura told TTG: “We never imagined we would get anywhere near that type of money, it’s been phenomenal.
The Just Giving page currently has a goal of £100,000, but Laura explained that a whole course of treatment for Louise could cost “in excess of £150,000”.
“People in the trade who have met Louise don’t forget her, she is so bright and bubbly,” added Laura. “She is determined to keep on fighting for her boys.
“We’ve had so many lovely messages over social media from our friends in travel, which has really helped keep us and Louise going.”
