Dcarbonise Week takes place from 4-8 October when it will showcase the latest developments in renewable and low-carbon energy generation.
Goodwin will moderate three Dcarbonise Week sessions on travel and sustainability next Friday (8 October) looking at fossil fuel use in aviation, as well as reducing emissions by hotels, tour operators, ground handlers and transport providers.
Panellists will include easyJet’s sustainability director Jane Ashton, Adam Freeman from Manchester Airports Group, Claire Whitely of the Sustainable Hospitality Alliance, and Intrepid Travel’s Dr Susanne Etti.
WTM London exhibition director, Simon Press said: “Harold has developed WTM’s flagship Responsible Tourism programme into a world-leading, preeminent series of events, so I am delighted to see he’s taking such an influential role in Dcarbonise Week.
“The Dcarbonise debates and panellists will raise vital issues for our sector and their insights will help set the stage for further discussion at WTM London.
“As we emerge from the devastating effects of the pandemic, we have to face up to the climate crisis and WTM London is the platform for the global travel and tourism sector to take these urgent issues into 2022 and beyond.”
The WTM London Responsible Tourism sessions will be held on the first day of WTM London on 1 November. They will be followed on day two by the UNWTO, WTTC and WTM Ministers’ Summit, which will have the theme of Investing in Tourism’s Sustainable Future.
