Eyewitnesses at the theme park reported seeing soldiers and police officers “flooding” the area nearby the Marne la Vallee station – around 20 miles from the centre of the French capital – shortly after 8pm.
By 11pm that evening the security alert had been “scaled down” although the station remained closed before being reopened shortly afterwards, Metro reports.
“Marne la Vallee station is being shut down as a precaution,” a local police source told media. “Searches are under way following a warning about a suspicious package.”
According to MailOnline, the incident is the third of its kind in as many weeks to occur at Marne la Vallee station.
All train traffic in the area was halted on July 18 and 20 while bomb disposal experts dealt with packages which were later declared safe.
Disneyland Paris has been considered a prime target for terrorists since the Paris attacks last November, with France on a heightened security alert since.
This recent scare follows a man’s failed attempt to enter the park with a gun in January.
