UK authorities suspended flights to the resort after a Russian charter aircraft was blown up by a bomb on October 31 shortly after taking off from Sharm airport.
EasyJet recorded a total of 378 cancellations in November compared to only 16 in the same month last year.
“Sharm el Sheikh accounted for 176 of the total with the majority of remaining cancellations due to adverse weather conditions earlier in the month,” said EasyJet in a statement.
Currently all easyJet flights to Sharm have been cancelled until January 6.
EasyJet recorded a 9.6% year-on-year increase in passengers to 4.8 million during November. Over the last 12 months, the airline’s traffic rose by 6.8% to 69.6 million.
Fellow low-cost airline Norwegian also saw its passenger numbers rise in November with traffic going up by 11% to 1.95 million compared to the same month last year. Norwegian’s load factor also rose by 4.1 points to 83.1% last month.
Norwegian’s chief executive Bjorn Kjos said: “UK activity continues to fuel Norwegian’s growth including new long-haul routes and increased flights out of Gatwick, as well as further expansion at Birmingham and Edinburgh.
“With a new Norwegian UK subsidiary now being established, the UK market will be crucial to our growth plans for 2016.”
Having secured a UK operating licence, Norwegian plans to continue adding flights to the US as well as potential new routes to Asia, South America and South Africa.
