The pair helped, who raised £35,000 last year, will head out on their second African adventure in September and are seeking help from the travel industry for both donations and participants.
“Climbing Kilimanjaro was tough, but also a great release from everyday life, which sent me back to work refreshed and energised,” said Endacott, who serves as chairman of Teletext Holidays.
“With this in mind, we are looking for travel companies to either send one of their directors on the challenge with us for a week, so they can also raise money for Alder Hey or to directly donate the equivalent of a week’s salary of one of their board directors.”
Endacott and Bath are using the ITT conference in Tel Aviv Israel, to kick-start their fund raising efforts and have already recruited Lee Hill of law firm Mayo Wynne Baxter.
ITT chairman Steven Freudmann has pledged to support the project.
“It’s good to see the industry continuing to get behind such great causes as Alder Hay Children’s hospital, both at the ITT conference and via weird and wonderful adventures like climbing mountains and navigating treacherous waterways like the Zambezi. I would like to claim I’m too old for this lark, but given Stephen Bath’s older I may just settle for the too wise mantle!” he said.
Simon Powel, chairman of Comtec, became the first person to donate by pledging £1,000.
