Doha has denied this, with Qatar labelling the move “unjustified” with “no basis in fact”.
The Saudi state news agency SPA said Riyadh had closed its borders, with the tiny peninsular.
The move is unprecedented, and comes as tensions increase between the Gulf countries and Iran.
Abu Dhabi state-owned Etihad Airways said it would suspend all flights to and from Doha from Tuesday morning until further notice, with the last flight set to depart from Abu Dhabi at 2.45am local time.
Etihad flights to the country are operating as normal on Monday, the carrier said.
