In a statement on its website, the FCO said the advisory applied from 6pm on Thursday December 7 until 6am on Saturday December 9.
The FCO warned: “Palestinian factions have called for mass protests across the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, on 7 and 8 December; the security situation could quickly deteriorate, particularly around the Old City of Jerusalem; you should avoid all demonstrations across the West Bank and follow the advice of local police authorities”.
It comes as at least 31 Palestinians were wounded as clashes took place in the Gaza Strip and throughout the West Bank following Trump’s policy shift.
Further protests were also expected in Palestinian territories on Friday, with hundreds of Israeli troops deployed in the West Bank.
