The Glasgow-based company said the decision to open three stores and create 10 new homeworking roles had been made following “several years of phenomenal growth in the homeworking and web division”.
The three new stores will create 12 jobs. The first branch will open in the Scottish town of Montrose on the July 1 and will employ four staff and have a foreign exchange counter.
The company was founded by two Co-Operative Personal Travel Advisors and is now a member of the Freedom Travel Group.
Peter Finlay, general manager said: “Our customers kept asking us to open local stores where the customer service and great value prices that we are known for is delivered.
“We have spent months choosing locations to suit and have now started signing leases. Furthermore we will be branding stores locally creating local travel agents at the heart of their communities.”
Finlay added that Montrose is currently without an agent.
He continued: “There is a very clear demand for a local independent agent in Montrose and our research has highlighted many growth opportunities in the town.”
Horizon Direct Holidays was founded to provide severely disabled agents the chance to work at home and develop their own business.
