The low-cost carrier has grown significantly over the past two decades, from operating one route to Faro in 2003, to flying from 10 UK airports to 19 Portuguese destinations.
Over the summer, the airline will continue to ramp up services - adding up to 92 weekly Portugal flights.
“Today we operate an enormous programme with unrivalled frequency to Faro and Madeira from the UK, and we have flown millions of customers to this magnificent country,” said Heapy.
The Jet2 boss, who has been at the airline’s helm since 2013, said the carrier’s success was due to working in partnerships with hoteliers, tour operators and tourism boards.
“As we continue to grow and take more customers to Faro and Madeira on our award-winning flights and holidays, we will continue to put that partnership approach at the very heart of everything that we do,” Heapy added.
