The airline and Jet2holidays will offer more than 400,000 seats to 22 destinations from March next year, basing a fourth Boeing 737 there.
Six of the new routes; Antalya, Madeira, Crete, Costa de Almeria, Naples and Paphos will be exclusive to the brand. New flights to Malta and Rhodes will also operate. All will be weekly, apart from the Spanish destination, which will be twice weekly.
Jet2.com and Jet2holidays highlighted the support of independent agents in Northern Ireland for their success. The airline has had a base at Belfast International since 2004.
Steve Heapy, chief executive of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays said: “We have made a huge investment in Belfast, creating new jobs and putting in an additional aircraft to allow holidaymakers to fly to more destinations than ever in Summer 18. Such sustained growth is only possible by looking after independent travel agents and working in partnership with them to help them grow their business.
“Our continued investment into this, and into offering real package holidays and family friendly flights is really working, which is why we are making this positive announcement.”
The latest expansion follows Jet2.com’s debut at Stansted and Birmingham in March. Jet2holidays added 687,000 seats to its Atol licence for 2017, giving it permission to sell 2.27 million packages, only 180,000 fewer than the UK’s second biggest operator Thomas Cook.
