This includes the introduction of a tailored training programme, called Earn Your Wings, to help improve agents’ knowledge of the Jet2holidays brand, including branded badges and certificates awarded to agents after they have completed the one-day course.
Jet2holidays is also launching a new programme, Service to Success, which is aimed at business owners to help them increase customers and boost sales by covering areas such as customer service, sales, brands and capturing data.
Another move by the operator is an in-store branding concept which allows agencies to integrate a fully-branded Jet2holidays booking centre in their stores.
Jet2holidays’ chief executive Steve Heapy said: “Independent travel agents will always be at the heart of what we do.”
The plans were revealed at Jet2holidays’ annual VIP independent travel agent conference in Tenerife, alongside details of the operator’s investment in its trade website, which is due to be relaunched later this month, as reported by TTG yesterday.
Alan Cross, head of trade at Jet2holidays, said: “Our annual VIP travel trade conference in Tenerife has certainly been our biggest, best and most successful yet.
“Working in partnership with independent travel agents is critical to the growth and success of Jet2holidays and this conference really underlined that.
“We have revealed a number of new initiatives to help independent agents grow their businesses, and I am sure our agency partners came away with a clear understanding of how committed we are to working in partnership with them and how unique Jet2holidays is in that regard.”
