Introducing a glossy magazine focused solely on the luxury travel market was gutsy, and remarkable – and all the more so because 10 years later, ttgluxury is not only surviving; it’s thriving.
When the global economic crash arrived in 2008, many worried it would subdue the luxury sector. Instead, the opposite happened.
Consumers may have put large purchases on hold, but holidays weren’t one of them. Rather, the sector saw new trends – a focus on spending time with family; a desire for bucket-list experiences; a demand for holidays with a difference – all of which could be catered for perfectly by the specialist luxury agent.
And as agents adapted to meet the new demands, ttgluxury was right there alongside them, keeping them informed and up to date with the sector’s travel trends, cruise ship launches and hotel developments.
A decade on, ttgluxury is still proudly dedicated to working with the best – profiling top luxury CEOs, taking agents on ttgluxury experiences, visiting them in their stores, or writing about amazing destinations.
And this week we celebrate the UK’s first Luxury Travel Week, and as the number of stories highlighted in this special luxury-themed edition show, the segment is continuing to grow.
Which is why we have announced our new ttgluxury Travel Awards to be held on February 9 at Rosewood London – from Friday, agents and suppliers will have the chance to go online (ttgluxury.com/travelawards) and enter for 1 of 11 categories, designed to find the best in luxury travel.
It’s been an incredible decade, but we’re still just getting started. Visit flymy.co.uk/luxury to sign up for your free copy of ttgluxury and to find out how to join us at our ever-increasing portfolio of events.
Here’s to another remarkable 10 years!
