G Adventures said work has been scheduled during the month on the neighbouring mountains of Huayna Picchu and Machu Picchu Mountain.
However, it added both these mountains are separate to Machu Picchu itself as well as the Inca trail and Lares trek while access to the Machu Picchu Archaeological site remains opens.
Brian Young, managing director of G Adventures, said: “There has been some misunderstanding that because of the maintenance works occurring on Machu Picchu Mountain and Huayna Picchu, that Machu Picchu itself would also be closed in April 2016.
“This is not the case and normal access to Machu Picchu will remain for travellers.
“G Adventures helps more travellers experience the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu than any other operator and we look forward to sharing this experience with more people in 2016, including during the month of April.”
