The 3,560-passenger ship launches in April 2017 and will sail five to 28-day Mediterranean voyages from Barcelona, Athens and Rome before heading to China in July.
Tony Roberts, Princess’s new vice-president for the UK and Europe, said the move would mean UK agents would be given an opportunity to see the line’s newest ship.
“We’re counting down to Majestic Princess’s Mediterranean programme and will be looking to arrange ship visits for as many of our industry partners as possible, with travel agents top of the list,” he told TTG.
The line’s two recent additions to its fleet – Royal Princess and Regal Princess – will also be based in Europe in 2017. Royal Princess will feature new 11-day Grand Mediterranean and 10-day Western Mediterranean itineraries, combinable for a 21-day Grand Mediterranean Collection.
Regal Princess, which launched last year, returns to northern Europe for cruises to Scandinavia and Russia with an overnight stay in St Petersburg. Princess will also feature its largest British Isles season, with 12 departures on the 3,140-guest Caribbean Princess, including last-night stays in Edinburgh for the Military Tattoo on select sailings.
Pacific Princess will sail on round trips out of Dover from June to September. The smaller, 680-guest ship will sail on several northern Europe itineraries, including visiting off-the-beaten-path ports in Iceland and the Shetland Islands. The ship will also offer voyages around the British Isles and cross to Iceland on a transatlantic passage featuring the country.
