The project will see the size of the lounge increased allowing it to accommodate 212 passengers as two lounges are knocked into one. A kitchen and bar will also be added.
Although the new lounge will not open until April, qualifying airline passengers will be given vouchers to use in a selection of the terminal’s bars and restaurants in the meantime.
Bothe Escape Lounges in Terminals 1 and 3 will remain unaffected during the work.
Kevin Smith, head of retail - lounges, said: “The Escape Lounge brand continues to go from strength to strength and we are committed to offering our passengers the best possible facilities to make sure they get their trips off to a great start.
“The £1.6 million investment in our Terminal 2 Escape Lounge will provide our passengers with the latest facilities and I’m excited for the re-opening in April.”
