The company has jumped from 25th to 9th place in the latest CAA rankings, following the most recent round of renewals, which were issued on April 1. It is now licenced to make sales to 400,093 passengers over the next year – an increase of 139%.
Loveholidays.com is now above the likes of Southall Travel and Virgin Holidays, although the latter is due to renew its licence at the end of September.
Chief operating officer Chris Roche, who was previously chief commercial officer of Travel Republic, said the technology underpinning the business had helped its expansion.
“The business is built on very solid foundations – the way we can allow customers to shop for holidays is unique in the market,” he said.
Loveholidays.com gives customers the opportunity to search for flights and hotels in a different way to that of its competitors, Roche said: “Even when they [customers] find the flight and the hotel that they want, we don’t just limit the display to the price for that particular date. We display the prices for 30 days, so they can easily look at the prices for the Saturday before or the Saturday after without having to re-run searches.”
He likened this to the experience consumers are able to have in agencies.
Roche added: “We’re using cutting-edge technology to revitalise a [traditional retail] experience.”
