The app will be the first of its kind to feature a "book now" function and will allow holidaymakers to “plan, search and book their perfect beach holidays from the comfort of their own sofa”.
According to On The Beach, travellers using the device will be able to search for available holiday offers by both month of departure and by airport – with results displayed onscreen.
Customers can then click on each holiday they find for more information including flight details, hotel descriptions and customer reviews.
Users can then use the app’s "book now" function and can also switch their holiday selection to their iPhone or iPad device to complete the booking at a later date.
Additional aspects of their trip can be tweaked on the app, such as flights times and board basis, with travellers also able to add baggage and transfers.
The new TV version comes off the back of On The Beach’s iPhone and iPad apps, which proved “very popular” with customers and fuelled “significant growth in bookings,” On The Beach added.
Chief marketing officer Alistair Daly said: “This is a very exciting development and we are sure it will prove very popular with customers. Sales via our app for iPhone, iPad and Android have been increasing each year and this new Apple TV app will make it even easier for people to plan and book their next holiday.”
