The LGBT-friendly company is based in London, but is opening a sales office in Brighton, where it will share space with sister company Spabreaks.com.
Company founder Darren Burn told TTG a sales manager and four sales consultants were being sought to start in January, joining the current team of 10. Marketing and product teams will remain in London, he said.
Burn, who set up OutOfOffice in January 2016, said: “Staff retention and happiness is always better outside London and we have some really ambitious expansion plans for next year – my intention is to build the world’s biggest LGBT luxury brand.”
He said he would be seeking investment in the next 18 months to fund his growth plans. Burn said OutOfOffice.com now had turnover “in seven figures”.
He added that 37% of its clients were non-LGBT.
“We are getting more enquiries than we can deal with. We get a lot from the US and we are not even marketing to them – when they come to Europe they prefer to use someone based in Europe and with the LGBT market there is a lot of loyalty there.”
Many clients were big spenders, he added. OutOfOffice.com’s average booking is £4,000 a head, but multi-centre itineraries would commonly bring in £15-£20,000, he added.
Burn said the OutOfOffice.com brand also acted as an agent for LGBT specialists. “We are probably the only operator that sells them all in one place,” he said.
