The travel technology company has hired investment bank Evercore to manage would-be takeover bids after rejecting “several offers” in recent months according to the Sunday Times.
JacTravel, which specialises in search and booking technology for hotels, deals with more than 2.5 million customers a year and is estimated to be worth more than £200 million.
It was ranked number 119 in last month’s Sunday Times International Track 200 - a list of the world’s fastest-growing firms.
Due to the company’s success, any future sale could see top management, including chief executive Terry Williamson, sharing out the potential £100 million due to its 45% ownership of the business, claims the newspaper.
Sources close to JacTravel confirmed that Evercore had been hired to manage bids, but downplayed the start of any immediate “formal process” of sale, telling the newspaper that Vitruvian was in no rush to sell.
The interest in JacTravel follows deals for other British travel firms over the past 12 months, after OTA Audley Travel was bought out by Ftse 100 buyout firm 3i for £159 million in December.
