According to the Telegraph, several people are feared dead after a collision involving a tour bus near Muenchberg in Bavaria on Monday morning.
Helicopters and ambulances were on the scene to rescue the injured and the A9 highway was closed.
Police have blocked the motorway as rescue efforts continue.
It was unclear what type of tour group the bus was carrying, and if there were any foreign tourists on board.
Police spokesperson Anne Hoefer said: “It is completely possible that some people did not make it out of the bus, it’s unclear where 17 of them are.”
