The Airbus A330 also deflated two other tyres when it landed heavily at Tenerife South at around midday on Tuesday. The aircraft, which had 320 passengers and 11 crew onboard, blocked the runway and caused other flights to be diverted.
Flights from the airport were disrupted until around 9pm on Tuesday night before the runway was cleared and inspected for damage.
Jet2.com leases the aircraft from Air Tanker, which also provides the pilots, however Jet.com provides its own cabin crew. Jet.com confirmed the aircraft “had experienced tyre damage”.
A Jet.com spokesperson told TTG: “Some of our flights had to be rescheduled until Wednesday and passengers were accommodated overnight. We will investigate what happened and more aircraft will be brought in as replacements. It is being dealt with.”
