Amongst those killed were 13 foreign nationals, while a further 239 people were injured – 41 of whom are in intensive care.
The three attackers arrived in a taxi and began firing at the terminal entrance on Tuesday evening. They then blew themselves up after police began firing back.
Turkey’s prime minister Binali Yildirim has said early signs point towards the so-called Islamic State, although no one has so far admitted carrying out the attack.
There are no reports yet of any British casualties, but David Cameron said the Foreign Office was in contact with Turkish authorities.
Experts have suggested the attack was the latest attempt by groups such as Isis to kill off western tourism to Muslim countries.
