The round-the-world sailing will take in the locations of 13 films including Lord of the Rings, The Beach and Star Wars – but it will come at a hefty price.
The six-month voyage will set film fans back £104,000, and even for those that have deep pockets, they will still have to prove their film knowledge is up to scratch before being allowed to purchase a ticket.
Bolsover has teamed up with film blog FlickeringMyth.com to create a 16-question entrance exam.Would-be travellers will have to successfully answer questions including:
"In Jaws, Richard Dreyfuss’ Hooper explains that his interest in studying sharks first began when he accidentally caught a baby shark that panicked and destroyed his boat. What species of shark did he catch?*"
Those who successfully manage to pass the test will jet off to Venice, before cruising to Barcelona to take in the sights from The Godfather.
The voyage then sails to Rome, Athens and Istanbul for scenery from films such as The Good, The Bad and The Ugly and Mamma Mia.
In New York passengers will see the backdrop to Spider-Man and then the Massachusetts setting of Jaws followed by the Bahamian back-drop of James Bond’s Casino Royale.
Other destinations will include LA, as well as New Zealand, Sydney, Auckland, Thailand and Abu Dhabi.
The voyage will take place on 13 different ships, with Bolsover promising accommodation in top suites or state rooms as well as business class connecting flights.
Michael Wilson, managing director at Bolsover Cruise Club, said: “This cruise is for anyone who’s dreamed of travelling the world and feeling like a film star at the same time.
“Filming locations often double as the most dramatic, scenic settings so we believe this voyage will prove to be a smash-hit.
“Not only is this the world’s first round-the-world cruise tailored specifically to film fans, but it’s also the first cruise where you have to pass an exam first.
“We teamed up with the guys at Flickering Myth because we wanted to make this trip exclusive to film buffs. The exam is
easy; all you have to do is watch the films.”
“We’re just the directors of this epic cruise, now it’s time to find our cast of stars.”
