The fee will end on October 29 meaning passengers will be able to bags measuring up to 55x40x23cm on board as part of the ticket price.
This represents a 50% increase in volume compared to the previous size of free luggage allowance while anyone travelling on or after the date who has already paid the fee will be reimbursed with 120% of the price paid.
It comes as the airline launches a new WIZZ Priority service which costs between €5 and €10 and allows those who buy it to take an extra small bag on board while giving them priority boarding.
Chief executive Jozsef Varadi said: “Today’s announcement underlines Wizz Air’s commitment to continuously providing excellent consumer experience every step of the customer journey.”
