The Icelandic low-cost carrier will start the route from Reykjavik to Chicago O’Hare from July 13 when it will operate four times per week.
The new route will link up with Wow’s services from Gatwick, Bristol and Edinburgh to Reykjavik.
Chicago will be Wow’s 10th destination in the US and Canada – it already flies to Pittsburgh, New York, Washington DC, Boston, Montreal, Toronto, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Miami.
The Reykjavik-Chicago flights will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Total journey time from Gatwick to Chicago will be 11 hours including a stopover in Reykjavik.
Skuli Mogensen, chief executive of Wow, said: “This is our fourth new long-haul route announcement in just a few months, bringing our network now up to a total of 32 destinations”
