It comes after the carrier's president Tim Clark said in an interview, published on 11 June, that he hoped offering cover would convince Emirates passengers to fly into or through Dubai.
UK customers can now book travel insurance when travelling with Emirates to Dubai or to any of airline's 140-plus destinations.
The cover includes trip cancellation cover, compensation for baggage delay or loss, unlimited medical expenses, emergency evacuation cover worldwide, and conflict cover.
Medical expenses of up to $25,000 and a free trip extension of up to 30 days. The cover is not restricted by government travel advice.
The UK government continues to advise against all but essential travel to the United Arab Emirates, amid the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
The advice means travellers cannot generally get cover for visiting the UAE, and the FCDO also clearly states that travel insurance could be invalidated if individuals travel against its advice.
On Emirates' travel insurance cover, Clark said: “Listening to customer feedback, we realised that travel demand remains strong but there was a gap in the market with regards to travel insurance cover.
"Therefore, we acted to address our customers’ needs. Emirates is pleased to offer an enhanced travel insurance product that is as comprehensive as it is reassuring for a wider range of situations.
"With strong demand for travel in summer, we are proud to offer our customers added confidence in planning their journeys to and through Dubai when they book with Emirates.”
Etihad and the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi have also launched complimentary medical travel insurance for international visitors flying to Abu Dhabi on Etihad-operated flights.
The initiative will be available from July to December 2026.
