It follows the departure of Bhavneeta Taylor, strategic account manager for Celebrity Cruises, who left the business last week “to pursue other career opportunities”.
Speaking to TTG at the launch of Celebrity Edge last week, Claire Stirrup said Taylor had been a “brilliant brand ambassador” for the line.
Stirrup added she was still working through the team restructure and said there would be “lots of exciting news to come”. “There are no planned departures, but we are recruiting”, she said.
Elsewhere, she revealed the line would be increasing its luxury–focused agent ship visits next year.
Jo Rzymowska, managing director, UK & Ireland and Apac, added: “The Retreat [on Celebrity Edge], which is for suite-class guests, will be rolled out across the rest of the fleet [as part of Celebrity’s $500 million revolution], so we want to take key partners and focus on the features we have for this market.”
Rzymowska added that by the end of 2019, Celebrity hoped to have showcased Edge to “at least 1,000 agents”, via ship visits in Barcelona and Rome. Celebrity is also hosting the Festival of Edge in Southampton, taking place between May 13-15, 2019.
Stirrup said: “We know seeing is believing and we want to stay one step ahead of the competition because we want people to experience the ship.”
The UK continues to be the number one international market for Celebrity and Rzymowska highlighted that numbers would only continue to grow from the UK.
